Support Staff Workshop 2012

Support Staff Workshop 2012

Thirty-one members attended the Support Staff Workshop, Time Management: Then & Now, at Lycoming College on Friday April, 13, 2012. Myles Miller, the CEO and founder of LEADUP.biz, was the speaker for the morning session. He presented on two time management subjects: to-do lists and handling daily interruptions. Many felt that the suggestions Myles had to keep interruptions shorter and from happening less frequently were very beneficial.

After a tasty lunch of soup and sandwiches the program moved from the Jane Schultz Room in the Wertz Student Center to the Lower Classroom in the Snowden Library. Members had plenty of time over lunch to explore the library and blossom-filled campus on their own.

Unfortunately, Dr. John F. Piper, the speaker scheduled for the afternoon session, was unable to attend the meeting due to a personal emergency. Snowden Library Director Janet Hurlbert, however, substituted very nicely with a presentation on the Snowden Library Archival Digital Collections. Afterwards the support staff toured the Lycoming College Archives. The Archives have been especially busy this year supporting Lycoming College’s Bicentennial Celebration. A few members stayed behind to have their individual questions answered after the meeting came to a close.
